Instead she begins to unravel the mystery behind her birth parents, and her secret heritage. She is a Timeless- a being that ages one year for every hundred human years when they reach their twenties- and of the royal line, destined to gain great power.
But Cheyenne has other problems. The ones who killed her parents want her too, and Colt is hiding something of his own. Surrounded by danger and with few she can trust, Cheyenne must face the dark truth of her past, and choose between a forbidden love that will forever hold her heart, or her destiny...
Sitting down with my computer I contacted Lisa Wiedmeier to see if she could shed some light on the this series that introduces us to a new paranormal character.
M-Cheyenne is the first novel in the Timeless series, looking back has Cheyenne taken you on a journey that you didn’t see coming?
L-I can honestly say that this was something I’d never seen in my future. I never even thought about writing a book, let alone soon to be nine, it just sorta happened. I’m what you would call an accidental writer.
I was going through a bad time in my life, and writing provided me with an outlet. I’d not picked up a book in over 15 years to read for pleasure.
It was my own fault, I was busy doing too much for everyone else and didn’t give me any “me” time. I’m what my husband calls a crazy driven person and now that I look back I can see it a bit more clearly.
It was March of 2009, and I remember it clearly as I’d just gotten back from a vacation in Hawaii. My husband saw me starting to falter, knew I was in crisis, but didn’t know how to help. He challenged me to “stop” and take a moment to breathe and because I’m always up to meet his challenges I did.
I don’t think either one of us knew what a pivotal changing moment this would be for both of us.
It’s not something one likes to admit, but it’s the truth… I fell into a depression. All the things I loved to do no longer held any interest. Breathing, speaking, getting out of bed were all an effort. I also couldn’t seem to stream a coherent thought together to maintain a conversation.
The amazing part in all of this was that somehow after reading a series of books I decided that I could do this, I could write a book. I was out shopping one day and bought some jewelry, and then really started examining it. I guess you could say I looked deeper and saw a story emerging. I then began to write it out. No outline… I just wrote.
Cheyenne has taken over my life and brought me back from the depths of a darkness I’d rather not repeat in my lifetime again. I’ve poured my heart and my soul into the Timeless Series and hope that others will see this when they read.
I’m still the same crazy driven person, it’s just that my focus has now changed.
M-Who’s in control, your characters or you?
L-They are in complete and utter control until I deem otherwise. J
M-Your book was started from a simple ring, what’s your favorite jewelry to get as a gift?
L-I would have to say rings. Necklaces are nice, earrings too, but most times they are the hidden bling. Now a ring… a ring will stand out no matter what. It’s on an important part of your body, which everyone at some point either touches or sees.
The rings don’t have to be big or shiny, but they have to have character. I prefer rings that are more antiqued, look like they’ve been handed down from generation to generation.
Now that I think of it, I probably get the whole ring thing from my grandmothers. When they passed I received rings from both of them that I hold near and dear to my heart.
M-With eight completed books do you have a total number of books you want to complete or are you just going to let the characters lead you?
L-There will be a ninth book, Sahara. Cheyenne’s mothers story needs to be told. I’m also working out some details about a tenth book that would more or less sum up the Timeless Race. Give you more understanding of one of my characters, Callon. From there… anything could happen. My original plan was just to stop at the fourth book, but the characters took over and then there were eight. J
M-Are you currently entered into any contests?
L-Nope, haven’t decided if I want to or not. There are plenty out there for new authors, but Cheyenne seems to be holding her own with sales and I didn’t have enter a contest to get her there.
M-Do you have a release date for Promises?
L-I’m shooting for early spring/summer. I know I’ve said the eight books are completed in the series, however, each of them need to go through revisions to make them the best they can be.
I’ve been working hard on Promises and have completed about half of the revisions. I’ve got a goal set and am striving to reach it. It’s been exciting to see the numbers grow on Cheyenne and have those readers so excited for Promises to be released.
